Star Denies Anti-Vax Views After Narrating Controversial Pandemic Feature
The acclaimed actor has lent his narration to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and lauds one-time health official the political figure.
The Documentary's Disputed Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a bestselling book published by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that the virus was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.
The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. He took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of Neeson have released a comment strongly denying claims that he holds anti-vaccine views.
"We all understand that corruption might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be equated to being against vaccines," the comment reads. "Neeson has never been, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response noted that the performer did not shape the documentary's messaging and that questions about its claims should be directed to the creators.
Key Claims Within the Feature
In the film, the script provided by Neeson features several controversial points:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It argues that "science has become deeply politicised."
- Kennedy is interviewed claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- The film further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it cites a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Context and Ongoing Issues
It includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a fresh analysis from the global health body stating no such link has been found.
A Past Position of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This is not the finish of our journey. It is the dawn of a different phase."
