The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with similar excitement, all while weaving captivating, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose work have represented all of those qualities.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' structure by featuring a different backdrop and group of personalities in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we have no details on what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their steady belief and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Every instalment is a take of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can evolve from year to year, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and introduce our common bold, daring approach to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
